Deb and Kevin’s Naperville Kitchen Remodel
Deb & Kevin love their Naperville home, but their original builder-grade kitchen just wasn’t meeting their family’s needs. They began working with Normandy Designer Ann Stockard to redesign their kitchen, and the results were so spectacular, the finished Naperville kitchen remodel won 2 National Design Awards (a Master Design Award and a Contractor of the Year Award) as well as a Remodeling Excellence Award from NARI Greater Chicagoland. White kitchens have regained notable popularity in recent years, but this white painted kitchen has a bit of an edge over the others.
The built in banquette adds casual seating to the room, while maximizing the space available for both dining and meal preparation. For starters, the open shelving with decorative brackets breaks up the pattern of upper cabinets in the kitchen, and provides easy access and useful storage for everyday items.
Behind these open shelves, there is a soft gray bead board that makes the crisp white cabinets and shelves pop, making them look bright and clean. The gray color is also reflected in the cabinetry that surrounds the refrigerator and microwave, and includes unique criss-cross shape storage for towels or even wine bottles.
This kitchen gained some national attention as it was featured in the Spring issue of Kitchen & Bath Ideas Magazine.
