2012 Remodeling Excellence Award
Small Kitchen Design Layout Wins Award & Homeowners’ Praise
Our designers are so passionate about their work, and this letter received by Normandy Designer Terry Tondelli truly touched her heart – at the end of the day, this is why they love what they do. What follows is a brief excerpt of the letter Terry received:
“Expectations – at a minimum we expected that our remodeling would update our kitchen from laminate contertops and floor to granite and wood, outdated cabinets to cabinets with pull-out shelves and drawers.
What was unexpected, is the quality of the products used that were within our budget (which was not Normandy’s top line) and the attention to detail by the design team that resulted in a kitchen that looks like it belongs in a magazine.
Everyone who has seen our new kitchen has commented on how dramatic the difference is between our old and new kitchen, and particularly that even those of us who do not have a large floor plan to begin with and a small/limited budget to work with can still end up with a kitchen that looks and functions like those you see in a wealthy community – all thanks to Normandy.”
This kitchen remodeling project was the recipient of a Remodeling Excellence Award from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry Chicagoland for Terry’s creative use of space and functionality. In order to accommodate a more effective layout and storage, Terry removed a wall and a peninsula, which opened the space much more and incorporated a better traffic flow for entertaining guests. She also used a closet from an adjacent area to add a second oven and additional tall pull-out storage to incorporate the increased storage the homeowners desired.
A huge “thank you” goes out to the homeowners, not just for their kind words, but for letting us help them achieve their ideal kitchen.
